The Arrears Adjustment Initiative is still pending final approval, but the design is that if a non-custodial parent pays the child support in full for 10 months as well as completes some task (parenting program, job training, etc.), the arrears owed will be reduced by 25% at the end of 12 months. A completion of another year of the same task and payments, arrears drops another 25%. This is for New York City Residents.
