New Free Money Programs Coming Soon

New Free Money Programs Coming Soon

Democrats and Republicans alike are trying to get your vote in this year's elections. The best way to do this? Offer you more program with more money for the things you need the most (housing, heat, insurance).

All the incumbent politicians - the ones trying to get into the White House - are out bidding each other to provide new money programs to help the pain of the impending recession. Here is a sample of the kinds of potential programs that were mentioned in the Jan 19th edition of the Washington Post (see: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/01/16/AR2008011604244.html?hpid=topnews&sid=ST2008011700859).

Remember this year is a voting year and the politicians will have one eye on new programs and one eye on the elections...

  • $25 Billion for clean energy projects (not sure what this has to do with the recession), extension of unemployment insurance and money for housing
  • $30 Billion more to help people with housing troubles
  • $25 Billion more to pay heating bills
  • $10 Billion for extra unemployment insurance
  • $5 Billion for Alternative Energy Spending
  • $250 each for 95% of workers in America (a total of $45 Billion)
  • More tax cuts for individuals and businesses
  • Advertising dollars to get customers from overseas
  • Money and help for real estate agents, doctors, automakers, pension funds, manufacturers, and insurance companies.
